Donald Trump has received backlash from Celine Dion after he and JD Vance used her song at a rally in Montana.
The former President of the United States who is hoping to get back into the Oval office, has caused a stir with the French-Canadian celebrity.
Celin Dione’s management team has spoken out after Donald Trump‘s rally played her iconic track My Heart Will go On in Montana on Friday.
The 1997 song is from the Oscar-winning movie Titanic and has become one of the biggest records in music over the past three decades.
YIKES: Donald Trump doesn’t like it when Kamala Harris says he’s ‘weird’
Her team wrote on social media: “Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana.
“In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use.”
They then asked: “And really, THAT song?” mocking the Republican candidate.
Donald Trump was seen at the rally where Celine Dion’s song was heard, in Bozeman, Montana. He headline the event, hoping to get support for Republican Senate candidate Tim Sheehy.
Users on X (Twitter), mocked the former POTUS for the choice of music, with some reminding the ex-TV star the movie is about a sinking ship, which they joke is a metaphor for Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.
David Hogg, Parkland High School shooting survivor, said: “Meanwhile on the Trump campaign they are literally playing the theme song of a movie about a sinking ship before a rally.”
Another added: “I’m glad I’m not the only one that realized the song from a movie about a sinking ship may not be the best for Trump/Vance to use.”
Let’s hope Donald Trump doesn’t get upset over Celine Dion’s reaction, but it’s likely he won’t use that track again…
