‘Britain’s heaviest man’, Jason Holton, has died from organ failure a week before he would mark his 34th birthday.

The UK native, who weighed 50 stone, 700lbs or 317.5kg, passed away last Saturday.

Six firefighters brought him to Royal Surrey County Hospital after the ambulance ride, his mother, Leisa, said.

She told The Sun: “He’s probably had about eight lives and I thought the doctors would be able to save him again, but sadly it wasn’t possible.”

“He was put on kidney dialysis and an IV drip but his kidneys weren’t working.

“The doctor told Jason he’d pass away within a week as his organs were failing. Jason soon started to go downhill.”

Jason said weight began to pile on after the traumatic death of his dad when he was a toddler, at three years old. He also said bullies from school would make his life a misery.

Jason Holton became the UK’s heaviest man after Carl Thompson died in 2015, who weighed 65 stone (412kg).

He lived in a bungalow, bed-bound and immobile in Hants Village. Officials had refurnished the property for him to live in, including reinforced furniture.

He had to be removed by crane from the flat four years ago after collapsing.

He has spoken to TalkTV more than once, and detailed the experience.

The 33-year-old said: “That was the most devastating time of my life. The terrifying part of it all was the amount of people outside.”

“It was very upsetting for me because now I thought I’m Britain’s fattest man, that’s what people are going to think of me,’ he continued.

Holton’s mother hoped her son would be prescribed weight loss drug Wegovy, with Jason himself wanting to try it for his health before he died.

He said: “I believe time’s over for me in general”.

“I’m coming up to 34 now. I know I’ve got to try something”.

His mom, 55-years-old, was by his bedside at the time of his death.

A coroner’s report has detailed he passed away from organ failure and obesity.
