King Charles won’t be able to see his son Prince Harry when the Duke flies over to the UK, Harry said.
The monarch is back to official duties after they were stripped back when he was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. Now he’s back into the swing of things, the 75-year-old won’t have time for the Duke of Sussex, 39.
A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed the news today.
They said: “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the Duke will meet with his father while in the U.K. this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program.”

Despite Prince Harry not being able to spend time with King Charles when he’s in the UK, the spokesperson added the Duke understands.
They added Harry is “understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon”.
Speculation on whether the two will have a chance to see each other face-to-face arose when Harry, brother to Prince William, revealed he’s coming back to the UK in a flying visit – similar to the last one where he did have a chance to see Charles, albeit for 15 minutes.
His wife Meghan Markle, hasn’t returned to Britain since the late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. The TV star also opted to miss out on the King’s coronation last year.
King Charles resumes royal schedule – making him too busy to see Prince Harry when he’s in the UK
It comes as Buckingham Palace confirmed Charles is getting back to work full-time.
A statement last month said: “His Majesty The King will shortly return to public-facing duties after a period of treatment and recuperation following his recent cancer diagnosis.
“To help mark this milestone, The King and Queen will make a joint visit to a cancer treatment center next Tuesday, where they will meet medical specialists and patients. This will be first in a number of external engagements His Majesty will undertake in the weeks ahead”.
Whereas, Prince Harry arrived back in the UK today, May 7th, traveling thousands of miles to attend the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games at St Paul’s Cathedral – but now he won’t be seeing his dad Charles during his trip.

His relationship with his family remains strained since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from The Firm four years ago. The pair moved to California, finding their forever home alongside celebrity neighbors in Montecito.
The now dad-of-two spoke about struggles within the family in his memoir Spare, which came out in January 2023. In it, he published private conversations he had with his brother and father as well as stepmother Queen Consort Camilla.
After Prince Harry visited Charles in the UK the day after his cancer was announced, he spoke to Good Morning America about it later that week.
Royal experts have claimed his actions has broken down trust within the family unit, afraid of him ‘spilling their private interactions’.
