A convict, nicknamed The Fly, has escaped a prison convoy when hooded men heavily attacked a convoy in France.
Two male prison officers have been shot dead with three others suffering serious injuries during the raid in northwest France today, May 14.
At around 9am local time while on a motorway in Incarville, northwest of France, the convoy was ambushed with prison inmate The Fly fleeing.
France’s minister of justice, Eric Dupond-Moretti, has said one of the guards who were killed leaves behind a wife who is five months pregnant. He added the second officer was a 21-year-old who has two children.

Dupond-Moretti said two of the three injured guards are fighting for their lives in hospital.
The officers were transporting convict Mohamed Amra, or ‘The Fly’, when the prison convoy came under heavy fire, local news reports.
Footage of the ambush shows two hooded men holding guns as they patrol the area near a tollbooth located on the A154 motorway.
Clips show the aftermath of a crash between a van linked to the convoy and a black vehicle.
Police told French news agency AFP, several men used two vehicles to target the guards, with one being found burned-out in a location, with cops not detailing where it was.
The prison inmate, The Fly, had been serving an 18-month sentence before his escape following ‘aggravated thefts’ that took place in the suburbs of Evreux.
The crimes took place in northwest France.
BFM TV added the prisoner’s nickname was ‘The Fly’.
