Donald Trump has upset a number of Christians after announcing his latest venture is selling Bibles.

The former President, who became the presumptive Republican nominee for the 2024 election earlier this month, announced he is selling Bibles on his own social media platform.

On Tuesday, he urged supporters on Truth Social to buy the “God Bless the USA Bible”.

Donald Trump posted a link to a website where the book costs $59.99.

His new business plan comes a day after he compared his legal battle to Jesus Christ’s persecution while he was in court.

The Apprentice star was in court for a hearing in connection to his criminal case involving an alleged hush money payment to adult film star, Stormy Daniels.

He shared a post an unidentified person sent him, where they compared him to Jesus after his separate civil business fraud case, quoting the Bible verse, Psalm 109:3-8.

Trump wrote: “Received this morning — Beautiful, thank you! ‘It’s ironic that Christ walked through His greatest persecution the very week they are trying to steal your property from you. But have you seen this verse…?”

The verse reads: “They have also surrounded me with words of hatred, And fought against me without a cause. In return for my love they are my accusers, But I give myself to prayer. Thus they have rewarded me evil for good, And hatred for my love. Set a wicked man over him, And let an accuser stand at his right hand. When he is judged, let him be found guilty, And let his prayer become sin. Let his days be few, And let another take his office”.

Trump was ordered by Judge Arthur Engoron in February to pay $355m after siding with New York Attorney General Letitia James in a civil suit. Now, the payment has increased to a whopping $450m with interest.

James accused Trump and other executives at the Trump Organization of conspiring to increase his net worth by billions in financial statements given to banks and insurers to secure loans and make deals. The former President denies he engaged in any wrongdoing, and claims James is targeting him for political gain.

On Monday, the appeals court reduced his bond to $175m and gave him 10 days to pay up.

He hasn’t commented on the ruling.

Fans are divided over Donald Trump’s new venture selling Bibles.

One wrote: “Let’s be honest, the constant grifting by Trump is pretty cringe. I’m sure he’ll be hawking ‘patriot gold’ or ‘liberty weight loss pills’ next”.

Star Trek star George Takei said: “Trump is selling bibles, and Fox is blaming the bridge collapse on our “broken border.” There’s a big sector of our society that has absolutely lost its collective marbles.”

Someone else penned: “Donald Trump selling Bibles? That’s like Donald Trump selling Bibles! Sorry, no joke beats reality.”

While another person admitted they bought the book.
