If the King was alive, he would have said: If you’re looking for trouble. Donald Trump came to the right place.
Donald Trump asked his supporters to vote on whether he looked like Elvis Presley over the weekend.
While preparing for the Nevada Republican caucus next week, he took to his Truth Social – his own social media platform to rival Twitter (X), to poll followers to see if he holds any resemblance to the King of Rock and Roll.
The former President of the United States shared an image of Elvis next to his own and asked if they had any likeness, writes The Independent.
He wrote: “For so many years people have been saying that Elvis and I look alike.
“Now this pic has been going all over the place. What do you think?”
The post was retweeted (or ReTruths) almost 5,000 times and liked 18,000.
His followers had a fun time in the comment section as some Photoshopped his face onto a picture of the celebrity singing, while someone else claimed they were “cut from the same cloth”.
He previously re-posted a photo of himself in comparison to George Washington and in another instance of a video comparing him second to Jesus Christ.
But it’s not the first time he’s sought validation he looks like the music legend. In 2018, Trump spoke at a rally and told supporters people told him in the past he looked like Elvis.
He said: “I shouldn’t say this, you’ll say I’m very conceited, because I’m not, but other than the blonde hair when I was growing up they said I looked like Elvis.
“Can you believe it? I always considered that a great compliment.”
Although, his fascination with the singer didn’t stop when he was in the White House. Whilst president, he awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to the star posthumously.
