Meghan Markle has been accused of trying to grab attention when Kate Middleton made an appearance at the Trooping the Colour event over the weekend.

The Duchess of Sussex’s friend, Nacho Figueras, shared a sneak peek of her brand’s new jam and dog biscuits on Instagram on Friday ahead of the royal celebrations for King Charles‘ second birthday.

Kate Middleton had made an appearance at the Trooping the Colour, the biggest event on The Firm’s calendar, with the royal not seen in almost six months in an official capacity. The last time fans had a glimpse was on Christmas Day when she and the family attended a church service.

But now critics are saying the former TV star’s timing was suspicious.

Her pal shared a snippet of what is to come from Meghan Markle‘s brand, American Riviera Orchard, which included jam and dog biscuits, on Instagram.

It’s been known what the 42-year-old plans to sell through documents filed for the company earlier this year, from homebaked goods, dinner ware and pet supplies.

But royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti told TMZ that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s antics was predicted, with fears the pair ‘might try and do something to steal the thunder of the royal family’.

He claimed it was ‘pathetic’ if Meghan tried to time her product teasers with Kate Middleton’s appearance at the Trooping the Colour. Adding, fans should focus on the ‘real royals’ within the palace walls.

But a PR expert told Radar Online, it was her friend’s doing and not her own.

They say it wasn’t a deliberate attempt to ‘upstage’ the Princess of Wales. The expert added the Sussexes issued a short statement after her cancer diagnosis was made public, wishing her ‘health and healing’.

It comes as Kate was forced to step back from official duties in January to undergo planned abdominal surgery. At the time Kensington Palace announced Kate wouldn’t be back to work until after Easter.

However, weeks later she came forward with the news she had been diagnosed with a form of cancer and is receiving preventative chemotherapy treatments. It shocked the world as King Charles had also announced he was fighting a type of cancer after surgery for an enlarged prostate.
