The former mansion of Television Hall of Fame inductee and the King of Late Night Johnny Carson is up for sale for a cool $5.3 million.
Before moving across the country to Los Angeles, he called New York his home, and now we can see inside his suburban mansion in the city. The colonial-style manor, dubbed ‘The Carson Ballfield’ because he’d let the local kids come in to play baseball in the yard, is now on the market.
Johnny Carson, the face of NBC’s flagship The Tonight Show, helped put it on the map between 1962 and 1992.
Hailed as one of America’s favorite television personalities, Carson won many accolades, including six Primetime Emmys. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President George HQ Bush, and inducted into the Television Hall of Fame.

Carson was born to be in showbiz, he’d entertain the local children in his Nebraska hometown of Norfolk with magic.
Then, during World War Two he served in the Navy decoding encrypted messages. But he kept himself busy, also posting a 10-0 amateur boxing recording and even entertaining the Secretary of the Navy with a card illusion. He had skills.
After the war, he went into local TV, with The Squirrel Nest program in Omaha. It became a cult hit and inspired other stars, such as Red Skelton and Jack Benny.
He met his future sidekick Ed McMahon while hosting Who Do You Trust, who would say the famous line ahead of the Tonight Show ‘Heeeeeere’s Johnny!’.
In 1962 he succeeded Jack Par as host of the legendary series and stayed on until 1972 when it moved to LA.
He retired 20 years later but continued to send jokes to his pal David Letterman who hosted the CBS show Late Night.

He passed away in LA in 2005.
Now, we can see inside his former mansion thanks to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com.
The stone mansion was converted from a barn in the 1920s and has seen many renovations since then.
Standing at 9,923 square feet, it was also owned by Fritz Siebel, the illustrator behind the children’s TV series Amelia Bedelia.
The gorgeous estate was also once featured in an episode of MTV’s Teen Cribs.
Inside, dark wood floors, high ceilings, big windows and seven fireplaces create warmth.
The enormous chef’s kitchen, which has a center island is a dream for any budding cook. The brown accents and statement lights hang over the island and there’s plenty of space to keep all your gadgets.
It’s home to seven bedrooms, three offices and a full-size fitness center. Big enough for yoga, rowing machines, bike, cross-trainers and a treadmill you can get the best workout of your life in here.
We can’t forget the private sauna and indoor cabana bath – if that takes to your liking.
There’s lots of room for entertaining with the grand living spaces that wrap around to connect covered terraces and blue-stone walkways.

There is also a kid’s nursery as well, perfect for the little ones who need their own space.
Inside you’ll find a formal dining room, which has two sets of doors that link outside to the terrace, as well as a smaller breakfast room for when you just want to enjoy the peace and listen to the birds as you prepare yourself for the day.
The decor is light and airy, with a modern twist but it still teases the long 100-year-old history of the building with wooden beams across most of the ceilings.
