Ozzy Osbourne has called out rapper Kanye West for using a sample of his music without permission.
The rockstar claims on X (Twitter), he denied Kanye (Ye) West’s request to sample a portion of a 1983 live version of the Black Sabbath song War Pigs for his new album. However, the celebrity found out it had been used anyway when the star held a listening party this week.
Osbourne said he “refused permission because he is an antisemite and has caused untold heartache to many”.
He then added: “I want no association with this man!”
The one-hour listening party, taking place in Chicago, saw West and Ty Dollar $ign premiere their collab Vultures. The record was set to drop in December but has been met with several delays, including Nicki Minaj also refusing the rapper. She had turned down a feature of an old collaboration between the pair.
At the time, she explained: “Regarding Kanye: that train has left the station, OK?
“No disrespect in any way, I just put out a brand new album. Why would I put out a song that has been out for three years? Come on, guys.”
It was also reported a live feed of the listening party was shut off after West rapped the lyrics: “And I’m still crazy, bipolar, antisemite. And I’m still the king.”
The rapper, who was previously married to Kim Kardashian, apologized for his previous comments, with some including him praising Adolf Hitler and threatening to go ‘death con 3’ on Jewish people.
In his apology, he wrote at the time: “It was not my intention to hurt or demean, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused.
“I am committed to starting with myself and learning from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding in the future”.
He had written the post on Instagram in Hebrew.
After his antisemitic comments, Joe Biden and the Anti-Defamation League called him a “vicious antisemite” and said he put “Jews in danger”.
It comes after wife Sharon Osbourne told the Jewish Chronicle: “Judaism is the only religion I have, and the only one with which I feel comfortable”.
