A little girl who complained to her parents about ‘monsters’ in her bedroom was actually hearing the sound of 60,000 bees.
Saylor Class told her parents about the noise, saying there were ‘monsters in the wall’, and they thought it was an overactive imagination.
However, a beekeeper discovered tens of thousands of honeybees in the three-year-old’s bedroom in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Mother Ashley Massis Class and her husband didn’t think there was anything of it as she had just watched Pixar movie Monsters Inc.

Massis said: “We even gave her a bottle of water and said it was monster spray so that she could spray away any of the monsters at night.”
However, Saylor kept telling her parents about the monsters.
Then her mom noticed bees swarming near the attic and chimney and called a pest control company that found the source of the buzzing.
They had been there for eight months, building their impressive hive.
The beekeeper told the family he had never seen a hive go that deep into the wall, with the bees coming out ‘like a horror movie’ when a hole opened.
He removed between 55,000 and 65,000 honeybees and 100lb of honeycomb.
The animals are being relocated to a sanctuary, as they are a protected species.
However, they caused damage to the house’s wiring, which isn’t covered in the family’s homeowner’s insurance. Massis believes it may cost more than $20,000 to fix.
