King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands made fun of Kate Middleton’s recent Photoshop scandal.

The 56-year-old spoke to members of the public at aN engagement in Zutphen, Netherlands, yesterday, when he made the dig at the royal.

A little girl asked him about his family portrait, and he quipped: “At least I didn’t Photoshop it”.

The joke landed well with royal fans who were there, as they laughed in the video shared on Twitter.

The 42-year-old Princess of Wales was forced to issue an apology on Sunday after she released an edited photo of herself and her three children she shares with Prince William for Mother’s Day in the UK.

After it was shared on social media, followers noticed a handful of editing mistakes in the photo.

Widespread conspiracy theories began circulating further on why it was doctored, and where Kate Middleton has been as she’s recovering following planned abdominal surgery in January.

She wrote on Twitter on Monday: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.

“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.”

A Kill Notice was issued by photo agencies, such as Reuters, Getty, Associated Press and Agence France-Presse, who pulled the picture and told publishers not to use it as it had been altered.

The social media posts on X (Twitter) and Instagram have now been identified as altered by the platforms.

Now, all photos previously issued by Kensington Palace are being placed under review by CNN as well.

Global news director of AFP, Phil Chetwynd, said the Prince and Princess of Wales’ mouthpiece is “absolutely not” reliable anymore, when he appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Media Show.

The palace has not released any other statements about the incident, but Prince William claimed his wife was the ‘arty’ one in the relationship at an event at a youth center, which fans felt was a poor choice of words.

It comes after a TV star claimed Prince William may be ‘hiding something’ from fans as Kate’s absence still sparks concerns with devoted followers. He provided no more information other than ‘sources’ telling him information.

The Palace had announced the Princess was set to recover for three months, not expecting to return to royal duties until after Easter. However, considering how fast conspiracy theories travel online, caused pressure on Kate and William to release a photo to quieten the baseless claims.
