The fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy has dropped it’s first teaser trailer for the hit series.

Netflix has released the teaser for the final installation of the program, based on the graphic novel series written by Gerard Way. It follows a family of adopted siblings who hold superpowers and work together to prevent the end of the world – again and again.

In the latest trailer, we see the Hargreeves siblings facing their regular lives after ‘saving the world’ with their father in the dramatic season three finale. Set to the 1986 song The Final Countdown by Europe, we see them prepping to face the worst imaginable yet again, for one last time.

The difference for season four, is that the Hargreeves are facing their hardest challenge yet – living normal lives without superpowers. The siblings lost their incredible abilities when the universe reset at the end of season 3.

The show first hit the streaming giant in 2019, with the second series arriving the following year. Season three premiered in June 2022.

For the new season, Nick Offerman, David Cross and Megan Mullally join the cast, with Offerman and Mullally playing community college professors Gene and Jean Thibedeau. The educators, from New Mexico, suffer from extreme deja vu after the universe restart button. Whereas, Cross plays a business owner, Sy Grossman, who is trying to reconnect with his daughter who is estranged.

The Umbrella Academy’s final season, compiled of six episodes, will premiere on August 8, 2024.

Netflix fans have reacted to the season 4 trailer for The Umbrella Academy, not holding back on how the streaming giant tends to cancel shows after one or two seasons, much to their dismay.

One said: “I think the greatest achievement here is Netflix being able to finish a series.”

A second echoed: “So finally there’s someone who reaches its end, otherwise Netflix didn’t hesitate to cancel great shows.”

A third added: “Netflix actually sticking with a series until it’s finally should be applauded.”

While a fourth was hoping for a return of a character from the previous season: “Luther and Sloane better be endgame.”

And another pointed out: “All of them yelling at one another while getting into the van was great. We are so back.”

Lastly, someone else said: “Proof comic book media isn’t lame it just needs a good adaption.”
