A rancher in Colorado has died, alongside dozens of his cows, when he was hit by a lightning strike.
Mike Morgan was feeding his cattle from a trailer when he was struck, killing him and 34 cows over the weekend, officials say.
The 51-year-old sadly died at the scene despite the efforts of medical staff, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said.
The lightning bolt struck on wide open pasture, knocking over around 100 head of cattle in the trailer, outside the town of Rand, which sits 80 miles northwest of Denver.
