Usher narrowly avoided disaster after stumbling on stage while performing at the halftime show at the Super Bowl on Sunday night.

The thrilling performance, which saw the likes of will.iam joining him, captivating fans at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

However, the Confessions hitmaker almost fell when he skated under the Black Eyed Peas star, when he lost his balance but managed to style it out with a couple of extra spins.

The R&B icon was joined by a long list of stars, including H.E.R, Lil John, Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri and Alicia Keys. He also gave fans what they wanted by ripping off his shirt.

He started the halftime show with the song Caught Up, followed by U Don’t Have To Call and Love In This Club. Listeners adored hearing some of his biggest hits from his back catalog, including 2004 album Confessions.

Alicia sang her song Ain’t Got You, and then Usher came in for their duet My Boo.

Then he went into Confessions Part II before singing Nice & Slow, Burn, Bad Girl and U Got It Bad.

Fans were not disappointed when Li John appeared and seemed to signal Yeah! was on the way, but they had to wait a little while as he started Turn Down For What to get the crowd going.

Before his big debut, he told reports on Thursday he wanted to mix in the past, present and future in his performance.

He said: “It’s been a challenge to squeeze 30 years into 13 minutes.

“What songs do people know me for, what songs have been a celebration of all of the journey?”

Justin Bieber was in the audience, he reportedly jumped on a jet with the Kardashians and Jenners to attend the show alongside his wife Hailey. Usher was Justin’s mentor at the beginning of his career discovering the then-teen on YouTube.

Usher fans who want to see how the magic came together will be able to see behind the scenes as Apple Music cameras were following him at meetings and rehearsals leading up to the big game.

He said: “There’s been a documentary crew that has been collecting all of the moments that have happened. There’s cameras around us at all times”.

The singer has had a successful career, with nine number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100, with Yeah! being the second-highest charting song on the list from 2000-2009.

He has four children, Usher ‘Cinco’ Raymond V, 16, and Naviyd Ely, 15, with Tameka Foster who he was married to between 2007 and 2009. He also shares daughter Sovereign Bo, three, and son Sire Castrello, two, with girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea.

The star was also married to Grace Harry from 2015 to 2018 but they did not have any children.
