Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards has opened up over her former bandmate Jesy Nelson after she left the group.
The music star has been honest about her life since the group went on hiatus in 2022.
The girl group, which was formed through British reality show The X Factor, was made up of Perrie, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson. The celebrity has now given an update on what’s going down between them.
She told Cosmopolitan magazine: “We don’t talk and haven’t done for a long time.

“It’s really sad, it’s heartbreaking.
“But sometimes these things happen and people decide they want to part ways, and that’s absolutely fine”.
The 31-year-old, who is on her own solo artist journey, wishes “it went differently” but said “you can’t control how things go”.
Despite how Jesy Nelson left the group, splitting up the famous foursome, Perrie Edwards isn’t bitter.
She says the 11 years they were together were “the happiest time” of her life.
Perrie said: “All we did was laugh together, banter together, cry together.
“It was so much fun. Yes we went through a lot in those 10 years, but we had each other”.

Jesy Nelson left Perrie Edwards and Little Mix in 2020
Although the group announced their hiatus – not a permanent split – in 2022, Jesy left in December 2020.
At the time, she said she would be leaving for good as it was taking a toll on her mental health.
“I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard,” she wrote on Instagram.
“There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process.”

Jesy Nelson herself has opened up over the breakdown of friendships with Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne and Jade in an interview with Glamour in October 2021.
“We’ve sent a few texts, but that’s it,” she said.
I can’t explain it, it’s like there has to be this distance. We were so close so you can’t do in-between, there has to be space. Hopefully, at some point in the future, we can all come back together.”
But she continued: “I love them. They are my sisters in so many ways, but for the time being we just don’t talk.”
