One local user on social media has claimed Dr Michael Mosley ‘left his cell phone’ at the place he was staying ahead of when he was reported missing.

However, this has not been reported by authorities.

They claimed: “These days it should be pretty difficult to get lost on Symi as so many of the paths have been surfaced and there is a lot more activity even in the most remote areas”.

The Greek island of Symi, part of the Dodecanese group, is near to Rhodes. It’s accessible via a 70-minute ferry.
