TV star Wendy Williams has been seen for the first time in more than a year.
The 59-year-old is preparing to open up about her private life and personal struggles in a new documentary with Lifetime. It comes just over two years since she left her chat show after health issues.
The first trailer for the special has been released and will run over two nights. It’s believed it will follow the star as she battles with health struggles.
However, the trailer was deleted only minutes after being posted online.
Before it was taken down, news outlets reported it saw Wendy breaking down in tears as she spoke about her mental and physical illness after her talk show ended.
Clips in the trailer showed highlights of the celebrity, including receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, her radio host days and her TV show. But it then cut to show the presenter today, which will be the first time she’s been seen publicly in a year.
Her son, Kevin Junter Jr, spoke to the camera, detailing his mom has done a “really good job” and pretending everything was okay. But he said, “in reality, there’s something wrong going on”.
Other parts of the trailer were concerning, appearing to show her struggling to stand without her assistant to lean on, and in another, a producer from the team asks if she’s a neurologist, to which she replies: “To see if I’m crazy? Mhm”.
Her son believes she’s planning to “return” to the small screen, but other members of the family cited fears she was losing her memory. They claimed she “didn’t know” where she was when driving around New York, where she’s lived for several years.
In October, the star was said to be at home and “healing” after admitting herself back into rehab.
Her publicist, Shawn Zanotti, said at the time: “Wendy is excited about the road ahead and looking forward to releasing her many projects.
“She wants to say, “Thank you to my fans for your love, support and many prayers, I am back and better than ever.”
Wendy’s documentary is set to release on Lifetime on February 24 and 25.
