Paul McCartney’s net worth has soared in the past two years, making him the first UK musician to become a billionaire.

The Beatles legend has seen his pockets increase by $63m (£50m) to hit the new milestone, after Paul McCartney’s net worth was measured at $1bn (£865m) in 2022.

It comes after his Got Back tour last year, as well as the celebrity’s back catalog, and Beyonce covering Blackbird on her latest album, Cowboy Carter.

Last year, two compilation albums for the Beatles, The Red Album and The Blue Album, were re-released and saw 21 new songs added.

Also, Now and Then, a new track, was released last year as the final Beatles song from the Liverpool group.

Written by John Lennon in the late 1970s before his death, it was later developed by the other members of the group, including George Harrison. It reached No 1 in the UK charts.

Sir Ringo Starr and Sir Paul finished the track decades later, using audio restoration tecnology.

Paul McCartney’s net worth means the music star sits among some of the other wealthiest people from the UK, according to the The Sunday Times rich list for 2024.

Another Brit that makes the list is Harry Potter author JK Rowling, whose net worth stands at $1.2bn (£945m). The 58-year-old writer, who also penned the Fantastic Beasts screenplays, made the Top 30.

However, the Scotland-based writer has been in hot water recently, due to her controversial remarks online over Trans and women’s rights.

This week, she targeted football referee, Lucy Clark, who was appointed as Sutton United’s women’s new manager in January. But Rowling compared the coach to a ‘middle-aged bloke’ and repeatedly misgendered her.

Her comments in the past have caused the stars of the movie to speak out against her.
