A large fire has broken out at an office building belonging to the maker of weight loss drug Ozempic, it’s the second time it’s happened to one of the company’s sites this week.
The building in Copenhagen, belonging to pharmaceutical group, Novo Nordisk, was pictured with large plumes of smoke rising in the air on Wednesday.
The ‘massive fire’ at the Ozempic office block burned for more than three hours before 100 firefighters brought it under control.
After this time, 70 firefighters were brought back as it began to simmer down, Martin Smith, fire brigade chief of operations told AFP.

It’s believed the blaze broke out in a container at the Danish group’s construction site. It then spread to the roof of a nearby office building in Bagsvaerd, also belonging to the company, in the northern area of Copenhagen.
The billowing smoke could be seen for miles, local news reported.
The company said in a statement: “A fire broke out today outside a building at Novo Nordisk’s site in Bagsvaerd, and it has spread to an adjacent office building.”
“The smoke is not toxic, and there are no injuries,” it added.
Police advised those who live nearby to close their doors and windows and to stay indoors.
It comes after a fire at another Novo Nordisk site in Kalundborg last week. The company said the fire had no impact on production of their drugs, Ozempic and Wegovy, which have been used by diabetics for 18 years, and more recently, grown popular for their weight loss side effects.
The company is investing around $6 billion to boost demand for the injections, after Hollywood’s ‘best kept secret’ leaked.
“We are optimistic that it will not impact production timelines,” Novo Nordisk said at the time.
