The Met Gala is one of the hottest Hollywood parties in town. Stars grace the the famous Red Carpet each and every year as we look on in awe – but even the biggest people in Tinsel Town have to follow a strict Met Gala rule, and no amount of net worth of recognition will absolve them.

We get to see celebrities grace the stairs in their best outfits, but that’s all we get to see.

Celebrating fashion, big names show off designers, gowns and outfits many of us dream of wearing, however, we never get a peak inside.

The entire event is kept on the down-low, and aside from stars arriving, we don’t get a glimpse of anything else. This is because of one of the Met Gala’s strictest rules.

To keep the night an enigma, there is a strict no-phone rule, including posting on social media afterwards. All of those lucky to receive an invite – some celebrities don’t receive one in the mail, or are on the ‘banned list’ – have to abide by it.

But some rumors claim there is a way around it, by sneaking them in when they go to the bathroom.

Another rule for the Met Gala invitees is that there’s not smoking, and it comes after photos of stars having a puff in the restroom, according to reports.

Lastly, something else all celebrities have to follow, is that if you don’t have an invite, you can’t come.

Screaming Mean Girls, ‘She can’t sit with us’ energy, if you don’t have that glossy invitation, you won’t be walking up those stairs – no amount of money will change that either.

Aside from that, you have to be over 18 years old, with an exception of anyone under 18 being accompanied by their parents – they’d have to be some celeb to be on the list!

Some famous faces who won’t be returning include Tim Gunn, fashion presenter, who said he was banned from the Met Gala in 2016.

Others reportedly include Donald Trump, and Rachel Zoe, with Tina Fey and Amy Schumer calling it a ‘farse’ and ‘jerk parade’.
